Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich v.9.2.1.11 update rolling out now for the Transformer TF101

If you have an Eee Pad Transformer TF101 then you’ve waited patiently for the promised Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update and we are excited to announce that the first wave of updates for TF101 firmware v.9.2.1.11 started today in Taiwan.
The update will start to roll out across more regions as the week progresses with the US following on 2/24.

There has not been any official news on the TF101 receiving the ICS update.

ICS on TF101 keeps shutting down randomly. Is there a fix?
My transformer is getting worse by the day! Its a disaster! I didnt ask for it! I dont want it! Give me back honeycomb! Reboot after after reboot after reboot after reboot after reboot after reboot dont take it folks! Google killed my transformer where do i complain!
It would be real a good step if Robert Cifarelli would find some time to update us on TF101/TF101G upgrade planes and timing. We do understand that there are some problems with Ice Cream Sandwich thats needs to be fixed, but starting upgrade and then getting silent is sure not a good PR for Asus Products and its services.
So I still don’t have my upgrade,,,what’s not going on?
Hope the Slider Sl101 owner won’t have to wait for too long … and felt left behind

I absolutely hate that it lost the feature of how websites view your tablet as a mobile, tablet or desktop in the advanced tab for the browser.
ICS is definitely superior. It is not known as how to rename the files. Polaris office takes more time to start.

Updated to ICS from Melbourne Australia around 9 AM, 22/2/12. Been about 23 hours since the upgrade. No random reboots, so far.
Tested the closing of the dock lid, after reading about. Got on a Youtube video and closed the lid. The TF101 locked itself on the sign on screen which is good for privacy. When the password was re-entered, the video re-streamed itself seamlessly to the point, when the lid was closed. No problem, here but I had to wait anxiously for the re-streaming. Very happy so far.
Had only about 15 standard Apps installed from the market, so the firmware upgrade was performed without any backup. Everything seems to be back to normal. Icon size and newspaper text displays were larger much improved for speedy navigation and reading.
ICS made access to my AVI and MP3 files easier without third party apps. The sound and picture was good from from files on my Micro SD via ASUS “MyNet”. Navigating my Micro SD files through the MyNET menu was easy. An obvious improvement.
Initially, videos links on the web would not open. It all came good using the ASUS (Blue Globe Icon) Browser originally bundled with the TF101.
Initially, the pad was slow. All is OK now without any re-sets. ICS appears to be faster for page to page navigation. The initial bootup is slow compared to my SSD boot up on the home PC.
In the past, could never type “@” using the TF101 attached keyboard. It always returns a “2″; despite me engaging the “shift key”. Had to detach the keyboard each time, to type “@” when entering email addresses. Conducted this test after the ICS upgrade. No luck, so far. Has anyone encountered similar frustrations? Any suggested fixes/workarounds would be appreciated.
On the whole the upgrade to ICS was a good job. Well done. Thank you ASUS.

Can anyone tell me if on the Transformer you can play Facebook games? Ones like Pioneer Trail?
The local temperature does not update automatically, and it does not show the time when the temperature being shown was updated. Apart from that, no apparent problems, and google chrome is a nice app.

Been waiting for ICS here in Central Florida. Still don’t see it available. When will it be? By the way, still having force close issues during web browsing. Had my Tf101 in the shop last week. Did reset twice. Still same problem. Anyone have any ideas? I can’t stand the thought of sending it back in for service, I’d miss it too much. I have a Samsung Android phone that I used to use to web browse on all the time and it never force closed, why does my Transformer? As far as I can see, this is the Only bug, will ICS fix this?

I updated my transformer TF101 to ICS and after updating some apps does not work correctly and freezes – or when i unlock the screen the tablet freezes and reboots. Should I return the Tablet for a new one?

Is it android or the browser which does not let you drag items? it’s so annoying if you have a pop up that you cannot move to a different part of the screen! rant over.. ICS is cool and runs so much smoother on my TF101… Thanks Asus.

My tf101 randomly restarts now and freezes at the Asus screen, the camera doesnt work, theres facial recognition, no camera button on the lock screen, battery life sucks. Does any one know if you can rollback updates? Cuz ICS has made my tablet a POS.

Got update morning feb 25 in florida. At first look changesseem cool. But when trying to do online games have found issues with freezes and strange flashes. When playing installed apps games freezing and locking up that was never issue before. Surfing onlineI have foujd now at least 3 websites that i have veiwed videos on before that now the page opens but the video screen stays blank.

Updated last night; so far so good. No reboots and no unusual behavior thus far. Thanks Asus for eventually taking care of us even though we should have had ICS before the prime since we’ve been customers longer.

Updated to ICS this morning. Really like Chrome beta. The Transformer keeps randomly rebooting. Anyone else have this behaviour?
I had a similar experience and I thought I had messed up my lovely ee transformer. It happened 2x or so times and took longer than normal to reboot.
Updated this afternoon and each time I close in the keyboard dock it locks (aka becomes completely non-responsive) and needs a reboot. I am tempted to do a factory reset if this keeps happening.

Yes, and since I did the update this weekend it gets worse with everyday that passes. It’s bad. My asus is pretty much rendered useless. Fix is needed ASAP.
Same thing here. TF101 keep rebooting when the tablet is close with the keyboard dock. I did a factory reset but it still happening.

Just updated to the ICS and having the same problem. it reboots 3 times in 5 minutes yesterday.
Has anyone found a solution?

updated to ICS – used Voodoo OTA rootkeeper (from market) before upgrade, also had to reflash stock recovery before upgrade. After upgrade, run ota rootkeeper and restore root – perfect!

App for the Display?? Do yo mean the one I used at the beginning to force the lacehunr to run in portrait orientation? That came with the ROM, I think its name is orientation switcher. But it was just needed in this old build, the newer ROMs are way better and more uabke, including the lacehunr so the tool is not needed anymore.
Aside from a few really mionor tweeks–I already have a 3rd party app installed for creating folders — are there any significant improvements to browser speed or smoothness etc?

Why can’t moto make my phone as cool as Asus is about to make my Tab?
Lars! that’s YOUR job! lol… root that thing! i’ve been running with ICS on my LG G2X for over a week now and LOVING IT… it’s an early version of CM9… has hiccups, but overall is awesome! cant wait to get it on my tf101… if you wait for moto to give you ICS, historically, you’ll be waiting months…

Should be, it’s a default ICS feature.
